You want your goods to arrive smoothly and without damage. In addition to a good driver, it is important that the equipment is well maintained and has the right qualifications. All trucks used by BTA International are modern, air-suspended trailers, which are equipped with GPS board computers and GSM communication. This way we always know where your shipment is!
The right trailer for your goods
Whether it concerns loose-loaded boxes, goods on pallets, machines with excess width or expensive electronics. We use the right material for your shipment. As an independent freight forwarder, we are not dependent on our own fleet. We always look for the right trailer for your goods. We require from the transport companies that we use that all trailers have anti-slip mats, sufficient tension belts and corner protectors. We want to make sure that your pallets, machine or other cargo is correctly secured in the trailer. An additional advantage is that the drivers we use are aware of the local language, standards and mentality in both Spain and Portugal.

Do you want to know which types of trailers are available? And what are the dimensions of a trailer? This way you can easily check whether your shipment fits. We offer you normal tautliners, mega trailer, box and cooling trailers. We also have large volume combis and special transport trailers at our disposal. What is a tautliner?
The correct name is actually: curtainside trailer. The confusion arose because a tautliner is actually a brand name. You can compare it to people who call an SUV a Jeep. They come in many different shapes and sizes. The advantage of a tautliner is that the trailer can be opened almost completely. This makes loading from the top, the side and the back possible.
What temperature range does a refrigerated trailer have?
Temperature-controlled transport must always take place in trailers that have a cooling motor. The cooling engine can also heat. There are different variants of these refrigerated trailers. You have them with thick insulated walls and thinner walls. With the thick walls, a temperature range is possible between - / - 20 degrees Celsius to +25 degrees Celsius. Some trailers are only used for fruit and vegetables, for example, so you do not have to be able to cool to - / - 20 degrees, but then +3 to +4 degrees is sufficient.
How many trailers do you have?
We work as a freight forwarder. This means that we do not own the trailers. There are some trailers with our advertising on them, but they are owned by a transport company that drives a lot for us. Actually, this makes us very flexible, because we are not dependent on our own equipment and therefore almost never have to say no.
What are the maximum dimensions by law?
In the European Union, the maximum legal dimensions of a trailer are: a length of 12 meters measured from the center of the kingpin, a height of up to 4 m and a width of 2.55 m. The width for a refrigerator or freezer trailer with a minimum wall thickness of 45 mm, a maximum width of 2.60 m applies. In terms of length, this means in practice that most tilt trailers have 13.6 loading meters in the trailer.
What is a loading meter?
It is real jargon; a loading meter. What is a loading meter? A loading meter is a linear meter in the truck. Depending on the width of the trailer (often 2.40 meters), this is 1 meter in length and 2.4 meters in width. 2 Block pallets with a size of 120x100 cm fit on a loading meter. 2 Euro pallets with a size of 120x80 cm fit on a 0.8 loading meter.
